I recently changed my policy twice in as many days (original car died before i got it) Was told by my insurer my policy was going up to £82 a month which i thought was fair enough for the first car (rover 214) then i changed it to a 1.2 corsa was chuffed when they said it was going down to £61. so fast forward to this morning when i recieve a letter from the finance company saying my new monthly payment is £79.43!! WTF!! so i phone my insurer and tell them what they originally said. " im sorry but because you didnt give us time to update your policy it only went down to £79 " stupid fking was told when i changed it about the previous change and said it was definetly £61 only reason im not cancelling is because im only a few months away from gaining a years no claims really fking fed up with this insurer they constantly send me emails and have cancelled a policy on me before without telling me. Sorry about any crap spelling too pissed off to care at the moment frown

I'd be pissed if I were paying close to a grand a year for a POS Corsa. How old are you?

That was pretty confusing. Can you not just cancel the policy?

I don't understand why it went down to £61 then back up to £79. What didn't you tell them about?

I have had three cars insured on this policy an almera a rover and the corsa the insurer said the the qouted price was for changing from the almera to the corsa because the rover change hadnt went through yet (i had changed to the rover the day before i changed to the corsa) i was paying £67pcm on the almera and i got a £20ish discount and with that it would have went down to £61.But the rover had taken it up to £80ish pcm. My problem is when i changed the insurance to the corsa i mentioned i had changed it to the rover the day before.

Not to sound like a tt, but maybe they are correct, I know from my own experience that the direct debit system can sometimes take a while to update, so your instalment may be higher this month and then go down after that.

I could be reading it wrong though mate.

Keep an eye on the next instalment, they may have charged you for 2 changes to the policy, and next month may well be £61.
