Looking through the thread on obscure versions of cars, I have developed a fondness for the Felicia Fun (if you don't know what it is, its a yellow Skoda pickup which has rear seats that slide out inbto the load area so its like a convertible rear end). Normally I would never need a pickup, but after trying to move house this past week by getting a day ticket on the bus, fill suitcase, cross town, empty suitcase at new house, get the bus back and repeat, which has been a total nightmare (my car is currently down in Leicester, I'm in Aberdeen, and I can't hire a van because a) I'm too young and b) I'm a student, beer money is more important). By the time I want to change the car, the house move will be done, but still I'd love the idea of this Skoda, as it'd be more interesting than a Panda, and I could finally have a car which would fit all my toolkit in.

I have always fancied one of those and the mechanicals seem fairly solid. I did some googling a while ago and found quite alot of concerns over tricky to get rust - around the floor/wheelarch area IIRC. Great fun though - I wonder how many they would have sold if they had offered them in something other than bright yellow?

I do have a lot of stuff, my original plan of getting a day ticket on the bus and running backwards and forwards with suitcases initially was a great idea as I was only transporting clothes and small items, but now its getting to things like the TV, and various kitchen appliances, I'd look dodgy holding them under my arm on the bus. It probably wouldn't quite all fit in the Skoda in one go, however it is a car which I would keep afterwards just because its more original than the typical student 106, Saxo etc and a lot more interesting than the Panda.But how much stuff do you have to shift?

My mate had one from new and kept it for about 4 years.
Cool vehicle - rear bulkhead pulls out to provide the extra seats. Not mega roomy or comfy in the back - but great for occasional use.
Nice part leather interior with colour co-ordination.
There are two types of truckman that I know of - the glass sided one shown in the thread - and the more traditional solid one with a glass tailgate. The only issue my mate had from memory was needing to take off the short roof bars to be able to fit the truckman.
Sadly now the hardest issue will be finding a nice clean example. But a nice buy if you can find one, and you can live with the green frog mascot.
Oh - watch it if you want a towbar fitted - the tailgate can drop onto the ball if you forget to remove it - like my mate.
