So I wanted to check the oil in the OH's clio (mark 3 1.2 16v petrol) and I cannot find the dipstick anywhere!! Below, circled in red is the only thing I thought it could be. Its black in the OH's car, not yellow and I pulled pretty hard on it, and it gives no sign of being a dipstick!

Anyone know where the little fucensoreder is?

you sure? It looked totally sealed as if it wasnt meant to move.. but it does look like it should be the dipstick.

some renaults have a really short dipstick, which can be hard to spot.
im pretty sure they are at the front of the engine, low down.
kind of just comes out of the side of the sump if that makes sense.

The oil is probably that thick/dirty that the dipstick has become stuck in laugh

NO! Don't pull it, its the engine drain.

The dipstick is inside the door pocket on the passengers door (cheapskate renault, leave it LHD setup). Look in there towards the front of the door and it will be there.

So the dipstick is not in the engine bay, but is in the passanger door? confused

Just thought i'd share this gem... after googling it (without much luck) a girl had asked the same question on yahoo answers and had said "I think its under the yellow cap but its really tight so I cant unscrew it, could this be why my horn isn't working?" lol.

Also she didnt get one when she bought the car.

A few people elsewhere seem to say its hard to get to, low down in the engine.

What else could that cicrled thing be? Is anyone 100% sure thats it, as in they have actually used it?
