54 Miles - i guess he's hoping someone like vauxhall might want it for some sort of museum.

If it's only done 54 miles and never been taxed or MOT'd, is it fair to assume that it's not been run for 20 years?

I wouldn't part with £80 for it.

That makes 2 of us. The seller must be living in a Land inhabited by many Clouds and Cuckoos.

It's probably worth less than a standard white GTE of the same era. If it was one of those I'm sure a true Luton Lover would pay 4 to 5k for the priviledge.

ETA: I think it might be in the stheaps in the PH classifieds thread.

Judging by the picture the incredible paint blending technology appears to consist of painting the bonnet and frontwings silver, the doors gunmetal grey and the rear wings black.

'Quicksilver', A bold new concept in car body colour design - based on the Vauxhall Astra GTE. Metallic paint which blends from white silver in the front to black
No, it's a car with different coloured panels, as driven by pikeys everywhere.

It's a wonder they didn't make a daring statement by having an XR3 alloy wheel on the front or the avant garde concept of fairy lights in the grill.

It is an original and the only one in existence, was being discussed at length on another forum the other day.

Produced as a one off design project to commemorate the silver anniversary (25 years) of the Vauxhall ellesmere port factory. Based on an astra gte 8v it featured wide arch irmscher body kit, alloy wheels, connolly leather interior and one off multi tonal paint job.

Has anyone read up on it properly?
Of course it's worth £7,995, it's a time-warp never been registered concourse condition show car.

But £7,995 of who's money?
Not mine, that's for sure.

Look they did a Nova too

Unfortunately the swear filter won't let me post pictures from www.yourcarisst.com but there's some crackers on there.

To be fair to the Astra it's not that bad, and it does look original, it's just it wasn't that good originally anyway and is not worth 8,000 today.

I'd be struggling to work out who wants that car. It looks like it wasn't sprayed properly. As mentioned, it'll need new fluids and tyres all-round. And a re-spray.

If I had £8k to burn I'd hand over the cash, douse it in petrol and throw a match at it, just so that nobody else would ever have to look at it.

Don't forget its a collectors car, its not going to be driven again. Someone will pay that for it and drag it around the shows. I started the original thread on another forum when i spotted it on eBay in 2002 and the mileage is still the same as back then so its just being passed between collectors. Its worth as much as someone who wants it will pay, the same as any other collectors car. To me the Ferrari Chris Evans bought is just an old Ferrari but to him it was something special so he paid an obscene amount for it, same thing applies here only to a vastly lesser extent.
I seem to remember someone posting about and old AMG Merc not so long ago and everyone was creaming themselves over it, i couldn't see the appeal myself or why everyone was going gaga over it but to some it was an awesome piece of kit.

At the end of the day its an 80's car and styling back then was questionable smash
