Some crazy women....
Discussion
I was doing a photoshoot for a of a TVR Cerbera on Saturday evening and was in the countryside driving along with the TVR behind me.
We'd taken a wrong turning, so were looking for a place to turn around and as we drove past some old women they screamed at me to slow down. I already had slowed down and was doing about 30mph in a 40 zone as they were walking at the side of the road.
When we stopped to turn around just up the road, I said to the TVR driver to show them what it sounded like when he actually gave it some, once he had got past.
So going at about 30mph back the other way as we knew they would still be there, they screamed at us again. But this time, one of them picked up a stick and went to throw it at the TVR. He stopped straight away and I reversed back to join him and when I got there, the old bat started speaking to me in French (I think). I said I don't understand, try speaking English, to which she pointed at the road and said it is no place to be driving quickly as there were people walking in the road. I responded that it's a road and that roads are to be driven on and that they could quite easily use the footpath which ran along the road, just inside the woods. She then started screaming at me, ran round the back of the TVR to get his numberplate and we decided it was best to move on before she did something stupid (or should I say more stupid) like scratch one of our cars, so we made our (noisy) departure.
Very strange old woman - why do they feel the need to hassle us when we were minding our own business and not even driving quickly?

Some people associate speed with noise so if a car exhaust is louder than one fitted to a generic car the offending car must be speeding and being driven wrecklessly end of.
Hence a TVR at 30mph gets shouted at yet a bet a 3series BMW or Discovery or mini could go past at 45mph and there would have been no reaction.

Even if we were going quicker (which we weren't) why would you stop someone?
You do get some very odd old people about. I turned out of a junction near college, and was just turning out in a normal fashion onto a 30 road, doing 30, and going road a very slight corner there was this old chap old the pavement, who saw me coming along, and just started shouting and waving his walking stick at me, shouting all kinds of nasty things. I have absolutely no idea why, I wasn't nosiy, didn't have music on, nothing. Perhaps he just finds metallic orange offensive? Right nut-job anyway.

Next time throw a can of red bull at her.
Nice, I love it when threads get crossed.
