Leasing Merc C63 Saloon

Afternoon All,

Been offered a Merc C63 Saloon for £475 inc 19" Alloys on x6+23 month business lease deal for 10k miles/year inc tax for whole term.

Know the pro/cons of leasing and reckon this looks good, especially as M3 saloon (need four doors) is coming in around £550 but over 3 years, so being tied into 2 years is more palatable.

If anyone has any advice especially on owning a C63 I would be very grateful, running costs etc.

Anyone had bad experiences of leasing high performance car?

I have 2 friends that have leased Mercedes and at the end of the period both have been hit with 3k worth of penelties . Apparantly in the small print it says that the car has to come back in showroom condition ready to be sold without them even touching it

Never had any problems when I gave back our leased Mercedes, It was far from showroom condition. Needed a "B" service in 200 miles rear tyres were on markers and the dog had scratched the back jumping in and out. The bill was £130 for replacing a speaker grill in the door which was broken. Paid it and ran!

My boss has just sent back a CLS 320 CDI to Mercedes, they wanted to try and charge him £700 for "poor quality paintwork to rear bumper". Seeing as it was the original bumper that the car came with he told them to do one! Haven't heard anything now for 14 weeks.

OP it's very cheap, I'm guessing a 2010 (old) model with a heavy discount.

I'd strongly advise you do a bit of reading on here ref MB and their end of lease charges.

If you intend to lease a Merc, google a company called Jet Logistics and give them a call. They will most likely collect it when the lease is over and they can provide you with exact details of what will be chargeable and I believe they even have a video that explains everything so you can be sure what condition they will expect the car to be returned in and what is chargeable and what isn't. I've had many dealings with them and have always found them to be fair.

why are business deals not available as personal

the company car tax on a c63 would be more than the monthly payment!

The deal isn't via MB directly and the car supplied will arrive in September for new reg. But if decide to go ahead will investigate the companies guidelines on wear and tear.

They will offer the deal on personal basis just with the addition of VAT. I'm clueless on new company car tax regulations accept I know you can claim back 50% of VAT, but you will sacrifice a lot for the Co2 output.

Its is tempting as one of the best deals around at the moment for such a car, and you can get Gap insurance for about £130 so will covered from most angles

OP. It's a fair bet you'll be better of doing that personally. I'd be very interested to know who's doing that deal, it's very, very cheap.

Would be slightly cheaper if went x9+23 or didn't include the 19" alloys

Have similar quotes around £550-£580 mark on personal lease over x3+23

Does seem very cheap, cant find anything near it

Are you sure there are cars actually available?

There have been comments on one of the MB forums that Mercedes are doing a supported PCP deal on the C63 but some dealers are refusing to honour it as they can sell all the C63's they can get. Also, the deal, unusually, runs out 30th Sept (normally they're only for the immediate quarter) but even so, there is some doubt newly ordered cars can be delivered in time.

I didn't say it was a good deal. There's a retailer deposit contribution of £4500.

The point is that some dealers are refusing to honour even that deal, which makes me sceptical about the availability of cars against the numbers quoted in the original post.

What's the point on advertising a car that doesn't exist. Especially something like a c63? It not as if they can suggest many alternative specs

I guess I can give some advice on the C63...I'm on my second!

Not sure what you're used to but you need to get familiar with an 18mpg average and 22mpg max. Also, if you use the car in any way like it designed to be used, you'll probably need new rear tyres every 5-6k or so...otherwise theres nothing too shocking.

Its a cracking car but those lease deals...aren't they based on pretty basic spec'd cars. Key items like Comand (sat nav) are extra so make sure it's included otherwise it could be a lot more expensive. Also, not sure how you drive but if you have any desire to get the most from the car, do not by it without the LSD option...it's criminal that they even offer the car without a proper LSD as standard!

The advertised deals are unlikely to be on old stock as they can literally sell all they can make - production is limited by the fact the factory can only produce about 50-60 of the (hand built) '63 engines per day and thats for all the AMG's that take that engine for the whole world! You'd unlikely get a car before the end of August if you ordered now.

To those looking at the PCP, I was lucky to get that subsidised PCP deal on top of a 5.5% discount and the dealer even paid the extra high co2 tax that came in post-April (I ordered well before April so should have had it before the tax came into effect).

Overall, it's very hard trying to get a deal on one of these from some dealers who are extremely arrogant in that they just won't move from list price. Fair enough if they don't think they need to....but I proved that there are dealers willing to play ball - so shop around!

it will be the standard car without LSD or Nav but adding these will keep cost down even adding 19" alloys bumped the monthly cost up 17 quid per month. Have read that 19 give better ride, but opposite to the m3 setup

Placed an order on an E250 coupe in early May and I will be receiving it early September and I had to pay list for the privelege so if you can snap up a bargain like that with a reasonable delivery time I think you have got a smashing deal!
