Looks very nice indeed. The interior is extremely tasteful as well.

Maybe he owned the car from new, got really attached to it and fancied upgrading it to a better spec without having to part with it and spend considerably more on a DBS?

True, i suppose it depends on how much they charged to convert it.

Making a car look better is pointless is it?

Good point, i should have re phrased or possibly not jumped to conclusion before thinking about the reasons behind the change as posted above perhaps it was cheaper to convert it than sell and buy and new DBS!.

I agree.

Would stay away from that bonnet tough. getmecoat
Was watching a last season tg episode (S14E01) where JC drives the DBS, and I still find that bonnet letting the exterior down.
The oh even tought THEY had done that to the car.

I truly think, the more I look at it, that this DB9 looks fantastic. I would like to know how much they paid.

What, are people making the DBS look like a DB9 as well?

Isn't there a chap on here who has done much the same thing?

Sure I have seen a thread on it at some point.

This is a replica of course, but hardly pointless. Much better than a knobber turning a pug into a fezza to drive round Staines massiv all night bruv.

It's not real obviously but it's more of a conversion than a replica really.

As a modified car it is worth less than it would be if it was standard? Surely that's the point, they have de-valued their car by making it look like somthing it is not?

The DBS is just a DB9 with a fancy body kit and some engine/exhaust trickery isn't it?

pretty much but its a lot lighter carbon fibre panels, ceramic brakes ,more power , better diff,

overall its just a better car all round

however the DB9 doesn't have the wheel wobble problems that DBS' seem to have , It looks fantastic , how much did the conversion cost ,

A DBS would match my initials

But if the car now looks how the owner wants it to look then the devaluation isn't an issue.

Ok then, what isn't the point and what exactly is wrong with it?

I do understand what Zollar is saying. DB9 - lovely, DBS - even lovlier. However, he hasn't just added the bodykit and been done, he's changed all the panels to carbon fiber, got the engine fiddled to match, retrimmed the interior and added the body kit, then got it all sprayed.

A 2005 DB9 is 50k give or take and a 2007 DBS is 90k. He will have spent an easy 30k getting all this work done so he could have sold his and got a newer DBS for similar or less to what he spent. Not to mention his car is now only worth the same or less than it was as a DB9 (but I know that's not the point)
