Renaultsport Twingo?
Discussion
Basically, I've put an order in for a Clio GT, but over the last week have been thinking that I've made a mistake and should of gone for the RS twingo instead.
I still have a week till the car is due to be delivered to the dealer and as such havnt put a full deposit down, hopefully its still possible to change my order.
I was just hoping for some other opinions about the two cars, and also if anyone knows if there would be an issue with me changing the order so close to the delivery date.
I just feel the clio gt is a little to grown up (im only 19) and that the twingo would be alot more fun to drive, aswell as being quite a bit cheaper.
Thanks for any help.

If it was my choice I'd have the Twingo, but its not my choice, only you know which car you really want. Also there is only one way to find out what the story is with changing your order, pick up the phone and ask your dealer.
As others have mentioned, insurance may be an issue so check that out first.
Whatever you decide, we want pics when you get it

Phone and dealer and ask what the situation is.
If it's easy and no hassle/money involved in changing, fine.
If there are financial penalties it may well make the decision for you - if that's the case just get on with enjoying what you've ordered and not think about anything else until it's time to change again.

I suspect the dealer wont be too happy if you want to change as they have probably had to order that specific car for you, Renault generally build cars to order as well so it could have been built to your spec and they may not be able to get rid of it dependant ion which options you have chosen.
I have a Twingo 133 and test drove a Clio GT before I decided.
The Twingo is cracking fun, it has it's foibles (little rough ride for example) but when you're in the mood I honestly don't think much can come close in terms of pure enjoyment, and you don't have to be doing license-losing speeds for it to 'feel' fast. Take the bung out of the airbox and it sounds terrific.
The Clio was fun, though not as much as the Twingo - it's a little more refined but to be it just didn't seem that special and after the Twingo it felt heavy and less precise, and the extra weight did dent the acceleration quite a bit.
The only negatives I can think of for the Twingo are the rough suspension and the economy could be a little better (I get around 33-35mpg mixed driving)

Yea its a bit of a tough one, I originally went for the clio as I had it in my head that the twingo would be too small, and not usable enough for longer trips. But thinking about it, its really not very often that I carry lots around or do long motorway journeys. And the twingo would be far more fun down the lanes and though B roads, which is where I tend to do most of my driving.
The twingo would also be a bit less each month wich would more then justify the slightly higher insurance (its about £100 more a year on the twingo), and its a little better on the petrol.
Just started to feel a bit cold about the clio for some reason, and it looks like the twingo would have more character.
Not to mention that the twingos quicker!
I'll give my dealer a ring and see what he says.

Right, went to see renault people, and long and short of it, I can change it but it'll cost rather alot.
But on the bright side, I saw a GT in the flesh for the first time (haddnt seen it before I ordered, just licked it in the brochure) and all I can say is WOW it looks good!
Not to sure about the wheels (but not to big an issue), but with the body kit on and the twin pipes it looks rather nice, and not to boy racerish.
So yea, im sticking with the clio GT, thanks for all your help with my question.
So what to do to it first? Im thinking remap and brake upgrade, and maybe wheel/tyre swap?
And also, has anyone been to a reanult sport track day? The new car will allow me to go to them, and as its a lot cheaper then standard track days I was wondering if there any good?
Thanks again

Just to add a bit of balance here. When my son passed his test, I looked at both a 133 and the GT. I found insurance on the GT to be better, and, although the 133 is more fun to drive, I don't think that the difference is night and day. I've found the GT to be great fun, and it does provide much more space than the Twingo for karting round friends/luggage etc.
No experience with mods, although I suspect a remap wouldn't do a great deal to a relatively small capacity n/a engine. I've been to a renaultsport trackday and found it great fun; really well run and lots of track time.
Hope this helps.
