right....i'm parked on a public road, no parking restrictions, not parked illegally, car has tax, MOT etc etc. some old bloke comes out and asks me to move it as "that's where i park, it's outside his house"
i just said there are no other spaces and i'm parked perfectly legally, and this is public road. he's threatened to block me in if i don't move it. thing is, it would be quite tempting to let him block me in, then get the 2nd car, and block him in also
maybe write a note on the screen saying "checkmate" or something similar.
what you think i should do? it's quite petty but i can't stand people like this who think they own the road outside their house, so want to leave it there out of principle.
cheers

Tell him to block you in, call his bluff.
If in the unlikely event he does then call the police and complain he is causing an obstruction.
that's what i'm thinking. guessing it's a local police station phone call, not a 999 jobby If in the unlikely event he does then call the police and complain he is causing an obstruction.

if police do f
k all, i'll block him in.E21_Ross said:

It can be frustrating for people with limited parking when others take the space outside their house, but to be honest, the law is the law. If it is legal to park there then you should shouldn't worry about doing so. Is the guy really old/disabled or anything, perhaps out of courtesy, you might consider a place a few yards away if there is one if he asked nicely...
he didn't ask nicely, and he is about 60-ish and not disabled at all, walks perfectly fine and has no disability badge in his car. i'm not blocking his driveway (he has 2 cars), it's public road, no parking restrictions etc.

It's not "legal" to park anywhere on the public highway.
or did i miss something?
i could just open the bonnet, take the ignition module out, and claim it won't start
then, plug it back in and phone the police saying he's causing an obstruction.Edited by E21_Ross on Sunday 27th June 12:03

Can you afford to leave it there for a few days to teach the miserable old git a lesson?
not in an ideal world, but i could cycle to work tomorrow without any problems. i'll see what's what after the footie and if he's blocked me in i'll phone the police and say i need to move the car and i'm blocked in. failing that, i'll block him in too.Edited by Space Invader on Sunday 27th June 12:38
