Apparently the official result is 6/4 both eye's but dont undestand that. Useful result for my race licence smile

If you have "exceptional vision" - why do you need glasses for reading? confused

I was wondering that too.

I can see a fly fart at 50 paces, but need specs for computer and TV. My eyes are therefore not exceptional.

The optician said my eyesight was exceptional but thought I may benefit from reading glasses starting at £60....

What a strange way to phrase it! Did you leave with reading glasses?

Your optician sounds like a ***. Get a second opinion on whether or not you need reading glasses before you splash the cash.

As I understand it this measurement means that you can read something at 6 metres that the average bear could read at 4 metres.

Even with the optical nature of this thread I still thought you were boasting about having a very young girlfriend for a split second. hehe

You may not be aware that Glaucoma is the biggest cause of sight loss in those aged 40 and above - everyone over the age of 40 should get their sight checked at least once every two years, as if it is detected early, little or no sight damage can occur.

Usually the patient doesn't notice the loss of sight until it's too late......consider yourself lucky.

And if you use a VDU/Monitor as a main part of your job your company has to pay for the test. So for a large portion of the working population there's no excuse. Except I'm so lazy I've not had one in years.... Bloody idiot me.
