Belgium: what's the point?
Discussion
Truely the worst f
king drivers in Western Europe if not the whole goddamn world!
You're in lane three doing a sensible speed overtaking the f
king slow ass moronic middle lane hoggers when one of the f
ktards makes a lane change right in front of you causing you to stick your car on its nose. Now this might be acceptable once but it happens every f
king two f
king minutes all the f
king way across their stupid poxy little country. I swear to God it's the only time I've ever been glad to get into France was to escape their crazy ass, no f
king wing mirror looking, mother f
king s
t! (and for that matter, don't give me a rearview mirror full of full-beam as if to suggest that I was in the f
king wrong you totally retarded s
t for brains!)
And that's not all! Why, in a motorway service station, do you have to pay 50cents to go for a piss in their grimy, smelly, piss and s
t dripping toilet? I f
king refused and when the fat stinking b
h sat outside took issue I told her where to stick it and that I was British and I WOULD NOT PAY TO TAKE A f
kING PISS!
Their road safety record is obviously so f
king poor, that every 2 clicks there's some condescending f
k on a sign with some gay quote about how to not die on the road by driving slowly/carefully/with prudence etc. They should stop wasting their f
king money on that ill considered s
t and resurface some of the hundreds of kilometers of pothole ridden, jammed up, roadwork-strewn road network of hell!
If I had my way, there'd be snipers on bridges on every road in and out of the stinking little s
thole preventing the dangerous little f
kers blighting the roads of any other European country! That's about the best contribution to the world that a collaboration between France, Germany, Holland and Luxembourg could make!
f
k off and die you red-on-white numberplate driving, wing mirror unusing, non-looking lane changing, no closing speed judging cock suckers!

k off and die you red-on-white numberplate driving, wing mirror unusing, non-looking lane changing, no closing speed judging cock suckers! Pretty well spot on! The drivers pulling out thing is too true - I remember once me and the missus on a fast run back from Munich entering Belgium and it was about 2 minutes before someone pulled out straight in front of us. On a completely, utterly empty motorway. Really. We were doing an indicated 145mph and I have never before or since had to brake so hard. Utterly inexplicable.
What really boils my piss though is that the bureacrats in Brussels (ok, I know they aren't Belgian themselves) see fit to pass all these laws on standards of road safety, power limits, replacement of central barriers, harmonisation of driving licences and the like - obviously none of them have ever driven or been driven in Belgium. Shocking.
On a related note - one that possibly needs it own thread - the French: used to be demon drivers, mainly cos they got a f
king shift on. Since the French authorities appear to have gone utterly mental with speed enforcement they seem to have totally lost it - collectively they're not too hot anymore. They're like Samson with their hair cut. Shame

Absolutely spot on
Every time someone in France is driving like an idiot they're in a car with red-on-white plates and on a short trip through Belgium (Koln to Calais) we saw the recent aftermath of what appeared to be a fatal accident as well as all the usual piss-poor driving and atrociously surfaced roads.
They even have some roads where the use of cruise control is illegal, because the natives are such bad drivers they can't be trusted to use it sensibly

I'm Belgian and ... you are right.
I'm from the southern communist part of belgium called the wallonistan and I can't f
king stand my country.
Actually not my country. Nor the politicians because these communists are actually elected by the people. They get what they deserve.
It saddens me to say this but thank f
k I moved to Luxembourg !

The worst drivers, well, you have to look no further than your own back yard. England's roads are full of incompetent idiots with no idea how to drive, particularly on motorways. I've driven to and through Brussels on many occasions and the Belgians are driving gods compared to the English (or should I say....people driving on English roads!)

Me too, in the last couple of months I have driven across Holland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Spain! Lordbenny said:

The English are pretty frustrating, hogging of overtaking lanes being their worst trait, but they're nowhere on earth as bad as the f
king Belgians! The lane changing behavoiur is downright lethal! For the OP's post:
I've driven in a large number of European countries on many occasions over the years and I have to agree with what's said above, I think the English are the worst drivers by a good margin. The English are certainly the most aggressive, least able and have the least common sense. Most English people drive with one hand on top of the steering wheel and the other on the gearstick and as such their cars look like something out of a 1990s Nintendo game as they jerk from left to right (especially the 540i that just overtook me at 100mph on a twisty road - you know who you are! I thought you were going to bin it on two occasions), and they don't understand signalling or anticipation, and when they do screw up (which is frequently) it's always someone else's fault.
The Belgians though are indeed pretty shocking, mainly because they're just so rude. I remember a couple of years ago I was waiting to turn right at a yellowbox junction and this blue rinsed slightly portly lady with a tiny dog on the dashboard (aka most Belgian women you'll ever see), nearly had an accident trying to stop me turning right in front of her when a small gap appeared from the traffic moving forwards. I crept forward slightly and raised my hand to say thank you and she floored the throttle so hard she spun the wheels, and then triggered her ABS trying to stop in time in the miniscule gap I was trying to pull in to. Nutters. They're like it on the street as well - they never say thank you if you hold a door open for them. By far the worst bit about Belgium though is the bloody language, especially in the north. You have to work out which language to speak and if you get it wrong (or possess an English accent) you just get glared at. Like the guy above I stopped to take a piss at a Belgian service station a few weeks ago and I'd left my wallet in the car by mistake. I said to the guy "I'm really sorry, but I've left my wallet in the car", and before I could even offer to go to my car to get him his 2 Euros he just started moaning at me about foreigners thinking they can take a piss anywhere without paying. Strange people.
Spa though! They have Spa! And the most glorious beer

How do they possibly enforce that?
Actually, according to this....

It's illegal to use cruise control on motorways full stop. If that's the case then maybe they should make it a little clearer to the thousands of people attempting to cross their grotty little chips-with-mayo infested country as quickly as they can!

That numberplate is best seen as a warning. Decent rant, too.
