I'm driving a 1.2 corsa at the moment, it's needing something done that will cost nearly £700, and I know this is where problems will now occur more often.

My original plan was to keep the chav mobile until I turn 21, then get something more desirable. Now the parents have agreed to give £3k to buy a newer and reliable car, but won't pay to get the car fixed. Iv seen a tidy ibiza 1.4 sport for just over £4k for low low mileage.

Do I keep the corsa nowing sometime soon the timing chain will give. Or do I look into purchasing a newer vehicle, lowering my chances of buying a better car in the future?

I don't understand how waiting for the corsa to die will lessen your chances of getting into something better later.
