Road Tax help needed.

I bought a car and have not received my documents from the DVLA yet.

The car needs taxed and after phoning the number on direct.gov.uk I have been given the idea that If I go into the post office with Insurance, MOT and the green slip I got from the trader I should be able to obtain a tax disc.

Can anyone confirm this as the information given out is as clear as mud on the automated phone system.

Yep the green slip from the old V5 should be enough (plus the usual MOT & insurance docs)
