Hi

I'm in the process of choosing my next company car and have been given a slightly bizarre list of requirements:

Must be an estate
Diesel - under 2l capacity gets 11p / mile, over gets 16p (so over is preferable unless the mpg makes enough of a difference)
P11D value not over £25k (which is odd as we lease them)

The only diesel estate for under £25k (with an engine over 2 litre) I can think of is the Honda Accord.

Does anyone have any better suggestions? I'm new to this malarkey so have no idea about costs etc, but I do about 30k pa, lower rate of tax and so on. Other cars I've been looking at are the Passat, Superb, Octavia VRS etc, but all are under 2 litres....

Thanks for any help.

Do Mondeos still have 2.2s in them?

You can get 159s with 2.4s but they maybe over budget and not very economical.

How about a Citroen C5 with the Jag 3.0V6 in it - 240bhp hehe - but not sure of P11D value.

Legacy Diesel is a 2 litre boxer engine.

Would traditional 4WDs count?

www.comcar.co.uk may well be your friend - allows you to search by criteria.

No, only the 2 litre.

The Alfa 2.4 starts at over £25k.

This is quite difficult.

It's the value shown on your P11D form when the tax benefit is being worked out.
Essentially it's the list price shown in the brochure - it doesn't take any discounts/favours/ex demos/used prices into account. So if you decide to run a 10 year old M5 as a company car you will get taxed on it's original list price - not it's current value.

There are loads out there to choose from for £25k.

Passatt, Insignia, 3 Series, Saab 9-3 and 9-5, Audi A4 Poss to get A6(Basic), C Class, Accord, Mazda, When mine was due to change I used Motors.co.uk, Ebay (Trade only search) and Compucar as well as Autotrader to get an idea of what was out there.

ah thanks for clearing that up,

Another vote for the Subaru here, but the new toyota avensis has a 2.2 diesel and looks rather unique
