I'm talking about the sleepy town of Rye, E. Sussex, now....
Home of the Mermaid Inn and beautiful vista's like this:

So, can anyone enlarge on what is going on here:
www.farrellsofrye.com
....and here:
www.sumopowergt.co.uk
I have to admit that it's been a good few years since I trod the town's cobbled alleys, but these stupendous businesses do seem a trifle out of place here.
Are these the dabblings of a local lottery winner, I wonder?

Rye was the European base of the Gurney Weslake F1 car.
In fact ISTR that it was Winchelsea Road, so it might even be the Farrells' premises.
Weslake engineering were in Rye as well, where the 48valve V12 was designed and built.
