Bit of background.

A guy in my block of flats has had his flay repossessed some time ago, he has now disappeared, he has left behind an R reg Puma that was last taxed in 2004 and hasn't moved for two years.

I could do with getting rid of it but have no keys, no owner or documents.

Anyone any idea what I can do ?

Thanks
TJ

We did this a while ago, there were a couple of untaxed and unused cars being left on the land behind our house, we tried to get hold of the owners via notes on the windscreen and asking about but in the end filled in a form on the council website and the cars were served with a 2 week notice then towed away.

Were it to be on the road with no rent it would go quickly. Were it causing an obstruction it would go quicker still.

Offtopic now but do you know how easy it is to move a car with a trolley jack lifting the rear wheels off the ground?

It took us 8 months to get rid of a local scrotes fiesta.
Granted it was taxed, however it was reported after a month of being parked there, ignored for the next 7, and only a month after the tax expired did ELVIS come and lift it away.
Result - scrote doesnt dump his knackered car outside his own house, then we the tax payer pay the bill for disposal, he has dissapeared, so no recourse there.
Nice one.

- NEWSFLASH -

Police refuse to tow away a taxed (and therefore MOTd and insured) vehicle just because you don't like where he's parked it.

And in other news police condemn the throwing of energy drinks cans in road rage incidents.

Thread necrophilia is nothing new, if you'll pardon the pun (and awful image)

Is it completely shagged? Not worth anything?

You could probably request the V5 from the DVLA and take ownership of it if it's worth anything.

12-year-old Puma though...maybe not

I was considering asking for the V5 but didnt want the hassle.

Coucil are going to sort it, may or may not charge us £40.00

Its been stood so long and the squirrels have been under it a lot and maybe nesting in it and eating the wires so I would have thought its knacked.

Thanks for all the pointers.

Cheers
