Cannonball Run

Now, I know that this could be put in loads of different sections, but can you please keep in in the Lounge? It's not really car gassing and it's not really film and tv. Besides, I like the people who post in here, so...

IF you could do the cannonball run (you know, coast to coast USA in the fastest time possible) what car would you choose and why?

Yeah... I can see this is going to work and that in the true spirit of PH you are all enthusiastically taking part.

I think the record is held by an M5.

I think I'd choose a big engined Phaeton or an RS6. Both are fairly discreet and have big fuel tanks.

What's diesel like over there? If ok then to win (not the most fun) I'd go for the biggest A8 diesel for range and high speed stability on those straight boring highways
