Just bought a 300 SL W107 with full service history but no bills.

Rang up Mercedes customer service and within 10 minutes I have the answer to questions I had and had not thought of being:
1) Number for the "old timer" parts division in Germany with advice on dealing with language barrier.
2) Contact for local dealer.
3) Advice on how to get build sheet for car.
4) All details taken so their records are updated with current owners info.
5) Answer to my only question being getting a detailed service history from the dealers who serviced it.
6) Put through as part of call process to an anonymous customer satisfaction survey.

Customer service at its best IMHO. I bet that this will be countered by people who are cheesed off, but this is my own personal experience and I am happy to say...err.... I am happy!

Mercedes-Benz have always been pretty good to my old man when he takes his car in for a service. They usually deliver it although a few months ago we were going that way anyway so we said we'd come pick it up - we got there an hour before we said we would and the chaps said it was just being cleaned so if we had 10 minutes then feel free to browse the cars or have a cuppa. They were also very friendly when I went in asking about C32 AMGs when on the hunt for my STi - and they left it to me to decide whether or not I could afford the service bills (I couldn't).
