Long story short my grans got a Suzuki sport and hit the ally a few days ago on a kerb resulting in a bulge in the sidewall, so she needs a new tyre. The Tyre size is 195/45/17 and I have never found so much problem trying to get a tyre to fit a car

been waiting 2 days from my BIL's garage and just been told it's going to be Monday until they get the tyre

Is this such a difficult tyre size to get? I had a quick look on a few online tyre suppliers and most don't stock this size

Not that hard to google 195/45/17 and find

The Toyos are excellent value for money!

It's a relatively narrow tyre for a 45 profile 17" wheel, but there are still options.

Mytyres claims to have stock of the much loved GSD3, but not that cheap... http://www.tyrepricebuster.co.uk/Cheapest_25_195-4...

That is a bit of an unusual size. 195 is very narrow on a 17".

Just looked on Elite http://elitedirect.com/Tyres/Tyres-By-Size.php?sec... and 205/45/17 seems much more common.

I`ve got a Swift sport, and yes it is an odd tyre size. As far I know, there's only a couple of manafacturers that make them, or did when I tried to source one.

I got mine through Blackcircles. I know there was a shortage of them, a real struggle to get one.

I was lucky, I bought two, one to fit and one to keep in the garage as a spare.

i imagine that although they are 17inch wheels they are less than 7inch wide hence 195 being suitable. 205/45 are a much more readily available and cheaper tyre and will fit fine but offer more protection to the edge of the rim.

How do you know 205/45 will fit fine when you also say you don't know the wheel width?

ok bit of research and a swift has 6.5j maybe 7j wheels, both these size wheels come from the factory with 205 tyres so it is fair to assume that they are suitable.

If the Suzuki has 17x6 id be very surprised!

Oh and well done to the guy who made the joke about the golf, do you think i run 165/50s on 9 inch wide wheelsrolleyes
