recommend me a car please (sorry) ( 8-10k to spend)

Currently i have a corsa vxr which i do love. But going to the garage at least once a month to get something fixed is rather annoying, its the most unreliable car i have owned and after a year and a half of ownership i want to get sell it for something a bit more reliable.

i would like something with the same sort of power, averaging 30ish mpg, preferably 2.0 turbo or a 3.0 n/a (that kind of area). i only want to spend 8-10k, and it needs a low milage no more than 40k on the clock.
i'm only 22 so impreza's etc are a killer on the insurance.

Anything else you could think of would be kindly appreciated.
