Basically I'm in need of breakdown cover, including european cover as i'm due to head out to Germany in a few weeks time and wanting to take my car out (BMW E30 325i Touring) However after researching cover, i was finding the AA wanted nearly £200 for membership and euro cover eek Green Flag wouldn't cover and so far RAC has been the cheapest at nigh on £150.

After some research I found a number of threads on ADAC having heard about them being far cheaper (£65 with Euro cover!) and how to apply, unfortunately the links provided do not work anymore and the website is in german only.

From the website it's very difficult to see if they still provide cover out here in the UK, though I've read it has been done a good few times with no problems.

Can anyone cast some light on how to apply and what's involved?

Could try the 'Translate a web page' bit on here:

http://www.google.co.uk/language_tools?hl=en

Might shed some light on how to apply smile

Have tried with google translate and attempted to apply, but the website doesn't take the details (postcode doesn't work as it's not german based)

have a read of this:

You will have to email them to request membership in the UK. their site only supports german addresses at the moment smile

I did it and the total lack of English is not very nice and their admin stank.

http://www.quotelinedirect.co.uk/ looks a better bet, this is from someone who was covered.

they're very helpful, email them.

Cover is second to none (i've heard, not actually had to use it yet!)

that looks good, but only covers you for one vehicle unlike the ADAC policy, which covers you for any vehicle your travelling in. Im about to renew, so back to ADAC for me (fourth year)

ADAC are brilliant, I was a member for over ten years when I was living in Germany, I had to use them twice and the longest I waited was 20 minutes. I wanted to rejoin but found that you need a German address. If you're moving to Germany then I would thoroughly recommend joining them.

You don't need a german address to become a member. Or you didn't need to anyway.
