MOT - what's going on?

Dropped my car off at a local garage for its service and MOT this morning. They've just phoned up to say everything is OK, but just a couple of small advisories for when it has its MOT... which apparently isn't due til October.

Last MOT was July 27th, any ideas what's going on?

Since August 2008. It was done in July 2008, but I didn't pick it up til August due to working abroad.

Screw up on the database? Have you got your last MOT certificate?, also get them to check the reg on there database and car make and model? Have they got you confused with someone else. They could have input the wrong reg no. intrigued, keep us posted!

Yeah seems like a clerical cock up I think! I left the previous certificate in the car with the service book etc., think I will pop round now and check!

Perhaps they were doing you a favour and didn't actually put the MOT through until nearer to when you returned, so you had a full year to use?

Turns out the garage phoned the wrong person... Sounded like my car when they described it though, needs new front tyre soon etc. So I was right with the MOT date. Fortunately it has passed.
