I've just been for a walk around the roads near work this lunchtime and as I was getting back I noticed a (legitimately parked in a metered bay) car with a nasty looking scratch all down the side. "Urk" frown I thought, thinking it looked awfully fresh complete with a trace of the powdered paint along the scratch. Then I looked at the next car. And the next one. Etc. Guess what? frown

Some utter utter stbag had gone along and keyed every dark coloured car along the road - regardless of marque (the one at the end was a newish X5) or age. Not jealousy, just mindless vandalism.

Just seeing it has made me feel really angry and a little bit ill. What sad, vicious, nasty scrote does these things? Why do I have to live in the same world as them? furiousfuriousfurious

Twunts.

They're are plenty of other places in the world where they wouldn't allow this kind of thing.

But here people seem happier to pay for the damage themselves and hope it doesn't happen again. Not their fault, its just easier.

Any cctv of the area?

This is why I think that high powered, high calibre weapons should be legal. I'd spend the day hunting down the degenerates who do this sort of thing and put their skulls on the front of my Golf.

The problem being, most of those countries also prevent you from doing all manner of things that are perfectly legal here.

At the other end of the spectrum, there are plenty of places where the inhabitants can only dream of living somewhere where getting your car scratched is considered to be a bad day.

Not sure. However if there was probably the only thing of note that it would see would be some tall bloke in a dark shirt bending over and closely inspecting every damaged car.

You are very right.

That doesn't mean we have to put up with it though.

And your point is.

I see no problem with removal of the offending limb where wilful damage is caused and also being able to enjoy a beer in the garden of a country pub on a warm summers day.

My point is simply that no such country exists. You can live somewhere where amputation is a recognised form of punishment, or you can live somewhere where the local pub has a beer garden. I can't think of anywhere that routinely offers that particular combo, which suggests your personal idea of utopia isn't a popular one.

As far as I know, amputation by court order is allowed in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Sudan. I can't claim to have visited all of them but I doubt you'll find many beer gardens. Even if you did, would you like to live in any of those places?

I quite enjoyed living in Saudi Arabai, though I spent most of my time living behind some gates. According to another thread though, living behind gates makes me a really bad person who will get what's coming to them, so perhaps it's still not ideal.

It is sickening.

I started a thread last week as a friend of mine had his Audi keyed across five panels for no reason (nothing he knows about anyway)

The result? an insurance claim for a full respray. frown

I've mentioned it before, but I've yet to come to terms with the fact that I'm anti-death penalty for murder, but pro for keying people's cars.
