As per title just interested to see how old people were before they decided to buy a brand new car? (And what was it!?)

I never have, probably never will. My parents haven't yet either and they're in their late 50's.

^^ What 'ee said. I'm 22, and I don't intend to ever buy a new car - don't really see the point considering the depreciation. Never got a loan or finance to buy a car, either.

18.

Just starting a new job, and needed a decent car to commute in, so decided to get a Brand New car - only a little Metro City, but at the time it was OK.

Have had new cars since, but unlikely to again.

Had a few brand new company cars when I was in my early twenties (Golf GTI, BMW 323, Lexus is200), which was nice. Since the co car tax laws pretty much precluded getting anything interesting, I've always bought used cars for around £10 - £15k. There is just no point sinking a load of deprecation into something that I'm going to flog up & down motorways every day.

So, the short answer is I have never bought a new car & probably never will

This, unless my plans (and aims) change rapidly - on the same scale as winning the lottery...
