Funny enough, I think I'd seen one in about the last 10 years on the road, and I saw about half a dozen of them at GW breakfast club the other weekend

Down to five or six grand for an allegedly decent example now. I guess that's still a fair price for what it is, but I'm sure they were twice that not very long ago.

Anyone here actually driven one at any speed? Do they handle in a relatively car-like manner?

I've not driven one, but I'd expect them to be very steerable on the throttle compared to most cars. Could be wrong though.
