I'm off on a 4 week road trip around Europe soon and was wondering what breakdown cover people here have used?

Decent annual euro cover from either the AA or RAC comes in at well over £200 since my car is over 10 years old, but having just been on Moneysupermarket.com, FirstCall only seem to want about £80, seems a bit too good to be true!

ADAC is the German equivalent of the RAC or the AA here in the UK.

However, the big difference is with ADAC, European cover is automatically covered, and the ADAC plus membership gives you roadside assistance and onward travel as standard. Something thats extra with UK providers.

ADAC also automatically give this cover throughout Europe and it is again something thats chargable with UK providers.

The BEST thing about ADAC, even aside from the 'ring cover is thats its the cheapest by miles:

RAC Solution 4: £132
The AA Relay Plus: £98
CSMA/Brittania: £84

All of the above require you to inform them before you will be travelling abroad to give cover.

ADAC Plus membership, which gives the benefits of all of the above AND 'ring cover costs only €78, which is £54 in todays money.
