Hi guys.

I have a beautiful Black hard top BMW 3 series convertable. The only problem is that I have just bought a speed boat and want to take it on its trailer to the south of France for the month of August.
The deal is if you have a Land Rover Disovery or a Range Rover less than 4 years old with a towing hook then I would like to do a swap for the month of August and I will pay for the insurance additions for both cars.
With the summer we are having imagine getting the wind in your hair and topping up your tan for the month.
The reason I am doing this is that I have been let down by a mate who was lending me his car but has been moved abroard for work.
Let me know as soon as poss as we leave on 4th August

I dread to think of the implications were either to have any sort of cosmetic damage when swapped back again.

"That stain on the carpet wasn't there when you took it"

"Yes it was"

"No it wasn't"

etc etc etc.

Nice idea, but I'd never risk it.

Why not just put a tow bar on the BMW ?

Must be the cheaper option.

I'll swap my Disco, but I'll need your wife as deposit.

Indeed? Which 3 Series engine variant? Surely best of both worlds in that case. smile

3-series = stolen. Lend a new Disco or RR, never see it again.

Nice one.

1 post and that offer.... Someone had to raise the question so full proof of ownership would be needed etc for anyone to consider this.

Michael Kerr and his brother Juan no doubt.
Swopping a Rangie for a 3-series convertible is tantamount to "outing" yourself, surely.

I wouldnt risk this with a long serving member, let alone some character who's just joined up.

What's going to be the cost of two one way hires?? Or a hire for a month?? Worth looking into??

I wouldn't lend you my 4x4 - it's too old (6yo) and I've got a convertible to'top my tan up'!! :-)

Cheers

Ontheoverun. The combined weight of the trailer and boat is 2100kg or 2.1 tonnes. The trailer is an SBS 2600 double axel fully braked trailer.

Which model of 3 Series is it?

Nobody is going to trade a Range Rover for a summer in a 320d Cab, for example.
