At long last....

Well a very nice chap came and picked up my 928 yesterday in exchange for a fistful of pound notes So i now have a decision...

a) bank the cash and stick with having just the MX5

b) buy another toy

So....b it is...

The budget will be 4-5k (ideally nearer 4) and after weeks of thought the shortlist consists of two candidates;

1) Another 928, a late S2 with S4 running gear or maybe an S4, i've seen a couple of nice early S4's in budget.

2) An XJS, it would be a late 4.0 facelift and again there are lots of nice ones in the 4k area...red or kingfisher blue...yum yum

Things i've ruled out and why...

1) BMW E23 6 series, i like them but they just dont give me that gut feeling of being special
2) Alfa GTV V6, just a bit too modern i think, not enough of a "event" to justify itself
3) Merc SEC, briefly crossed my mind but just a little "mehh" not special or pretty enough

There is no specific catagory of car im looking for as it would purely be a weekend toy so practicality osn't an issue.

Any thought?

If you're not averse to FWD (which you don't seem to be) you could get a very nice Saab c900 turbo.

Audi S4 (B5)

Not so much a toy, but a remap and your at 300bhp+

It is practical, 4WD, sleeper, thats why people buy these. But thats not wht your looking for tho is it?

Since its a toy, thought about maybe a celica/integra dc2?

Quick update....the money is still sat in my safe , getting very itchy ignition key fingers now!!!

I'm going to look at a very very smart (at least in the ad....) XJS at the weekend and before that on friday im off to Stroud to look at a 928...

Stil torn though...
