HPI Checks - Who to use ?
Discussion
Hi,
I'm currently in the market for a MK5 Golf GTI and I'm finding that most of the best deals seem to be nowhere near where I live. So it seems to make sense to run HPI checks on the ones I'm interested in before trekking halfway across the country to look at them.
So just wondering what you guys recommend this one https://www.mycarcheck.com/ seems quite reasonable at £3.95 for a basic check just wondering if this is any good or if there are cheaper places out there or are the basic search no good.
Thanks in advance

I've used mycarcheck.com several times, and always found their service to be satisfactory and accurate.I'm currently in the market for a MK5 Golf GTI and I'm finding that most of the best deals seem to be nowhere near where I live. Not to mention good value.
ETA: Also use the MOT website http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicl... to verify mileage if old MOTs are not present before buying (you usually need the V5 document number for this).

Thanks for that.
Just looking at this one http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R4... and the guys feedback suggests a less than clean history.
I've seen people mention on here £3 txt ones ? any idea who do these?

Mycarcheck isn't a full check though it doesn't show outstanding finance.
However I used it for my last car but then it wasn't a huge amount anyway.
Mycarcheck has 3 different levels of checks - I think the 2nd or top level has a finance check? However I used it for my last car but then it wasn't a huge amount anyway.
