If you had 15 - 25 grand to spend on a car....
Discussion
After meeting with planners, builders, architects and people who work out wind stresses on a roof (with and without snow on it) I'm pretty much fed up of trying to do anything to my house.
So I may just ignore the job (and the wife) and chuck it at a new car instead.
Criteria -
Under 4 years old and 40,000 miles.
Sub 6.5 seconds to 60

Oh do shut up, child.
The RS6 is a good car, but find me a non written off version of the V10 for the OP's budget & I'll eat myhat son.
Listen, Audi's are OK, but they're not all that.
The A3 1.8T we had was virtually un-driveable in the wet (not because of the power, the brakes were s
t)
The Cabriolet we replaced it with was sublime until you came to a corner
The S4 V8 we replaced that with had virtually no suspension at all, the gearbox had to be rebuilt under warranty, as did the steering.
S Line models are just pretend wannabe & look s
t

Since it sounds like a mid-life crisis moment, get a Caterham (may as well fulfil my own stereotype too
). Will blow all these uber-saloons into the weeds on a decent road.
Well now....that really depends on which engine he/or previous owner has fitted. I had a ride in one the other day....It had a 900 Fireblade engine in it, I was expecting fireworks (really I was) and to be perfectly honest.... not impressed.

You have seen the many copy and paste of s lines threads.
I'll try and find the one posted earlier today.
I saw them & had a chuckle.I'll try and find the one posted earlier today.
It wouldn't be so bad if the little cock gobbler spent his time praising the virtues of a decent car, but a goddam A3 S Line has to be one of the most cynical marketing exercises ever (which is saying something, as VAG are the cream of cynical marketing exercises)
