I couldn't help wondering if there's anyone else around who has bought a cheap roundaround/2nd car/little car for the other half and ends up liking it more than their car?!

Back in March I paid just over a £1k for a v reg fiesta zetec 1.25 so the other half can learn to drive. Around 4000 miles later, I love this little car! Whether it's up and down the M1 or dodging up and down the streets of London on the way to work, nothing is too much trouble for this 73bhp motor.

I would never have believed that at 37 years old I would pay a grand for and get such pleasure from driving a car most 17 year old might be driving!

lol. glad you like it. But I suppose one could argue, that if a 1.25 Festa is more fun than your car, then you simply own the wrong car.... confusedhehe

Haha, I would have to agree with this wink

My GF has a Ka, while its suprisingly fun for nipping around town for a change, I much prefer my own car!

1.25 Fiesta for my first car was pretty damn nice I must say. Love that engine.

Yep - I bought a Ka for my daughter and it's much more fun than the wife's 2-litre mazda 3. Just a pity it has no aircon.

I was shocked by how good the MG TF is when I first drove one. The way people talk about it, you'd think it was terrible.

They aren't much more expensive than Fiestas either. hehe

Because it wouldn't be surprising to him that an Audi was fun to drive. He expects it.

I bought a Puma to save the Supra for best, now we have 2 Pumas and the Supra has been sold... not because they are lots more fun, just because they are fun at a more accessible end of the daily spectrum. They leave a lot of other boxes firmly unticked though.

Ya, you could say I own the wrong car if I enjoy a fiesta 1.25 I suppose and I deliberately didn't mention my other car is a Vectra 1.9CDti! Before that I had an Impreza WRX and a civic type R and the fiesta still feels as much fun in it's own way.

Have to agree with this actually! I borrowed a KA for a few weeks last year and have to say that I did enjoy driving it (had a Clio 172 at the time). That said, I could never truly respect anyone who chooses one as their main car laugh

Theres a lot to be said for driving at normal traffic speeds and having a car that needs to be pedalled quickly 90% of the time. I've found my mums '07 plate fiesta a lot of fun to commute in, where anything more than a handful of seconds on the throttle would normally see me deep into magistrate appearance speeds.

My girlfriend has an 08 one, last year they made it. It has aircon, alloys, tinted windows AND racing stripes. And it's ace fun to chuck about.

I'm currently carless and the Ka being so much fun is stopping me getting my arse in gear with regards to buying something.

+1

I was given one as pool car for a few days for a trip into mid Wales when they first came out. Very chuckable indeed!

Too much Ka love here hehe They are quite chuckable, but so so slow. I'm lumped with one for a week or two now and then when I'm carless - my R53 Mini is in for work quite a lot. Am always very relieved to get the Mini back!

I guess if my main car was something else I might find the Ka more fun to drive.
