I recently bought a car as a local runabout for ferrying the kids around and to use for work. Nothing special, bangernomics at it's best, very cheap, a years MOT, 6 months tax, 2 previous lady owners and a full main dealer service history. It's only done 60000 miles and been totally loved, it's wanted for nothing, with it recently having new tyres, brakes all round, new steering u/j joint, new c/v boots, exhaust etc. It's immaculate inside and out.
When I bought it and for the 1st couple of weeks I couldn't fault it however now....... all I can do is look for faults or find something that I think is wrong. So far I've found the dead lock sticks sometimes, one speaker is a bit tinny, the seatbelt clasp sticks sometimes, the clutch occasionally judders, it's a bit hesitent when cold, the paint is a bit flat in places and a new one today - the alternator bearings are a bit noisy when cold.
This car cost me next to nothing and basically is a good sound car... so why do I have to find faults? I do it with every car whether expensive or cheap and normally change them after a few months only to get another one to pick faults at.
Is it just me or do others just pick faults when you really should just enjoy it?

Glass half empty or half full? I'm usually fairly positive but occasionally flick to extremely critical indeed...

when i had my mondeo i was always finding little things that needed attention, but since i had the Audi Upgrade, i can honestly say I cant really find anything to fault it!

Audi Upgrade
Is that an official Audi programme then? Designed to tempt people into inherently dull FWD cars?

And for me, my VAG product gave me MASSIVE issues which need st loads of attention, but since I had my Ford downgrade, I enjoyed better reliability and far superior handling.

I usually defend my current car, or look for where it is better than its competition. I'm usually in denial about the faults. smile
