Now, driving to my local garden centres i spotted a VW that had a fully rust covered bonnet

What is going on? Why would one intentionally do this to their car

Please see a similar example below, sacrilege

Are those exposed tyres illegal?

I felt quite uncomfortable following a SWB Landie at 70 mph on a dual carriageway a few weeks ago that had the tyres poking out 30 mm either side.

They really should have stumped up for the S-Line model, those never, ever rust. In fact if you attempt to devalue it, it punches you in the knackers.
