RS500 in the flesh

My friend just sent me some pics of his new RS500. He believes this is one of the first in the UK? Anyway here they are:

Gotta be honest, i'd rather the standard car in green, blue or white. And if i had RS500 money lying around i'd get the real RS500 and an RS to run around in.

I was dubious when I saw the press release

But I have to say seeing it pictured in a real enviroment, I think people will know exactly what it is and I think it look amazing!!

The one at goodwood looked a mess after it got a bit dirty. It didn't seem like they could clean it properly.

Are they wrapped or painted that colour.

They make them in the factory as a beautiful deep gloss black, then stick loads of rubbish black cling-film on them!

It'll be LHD, judging by the window wipers direction :P

Yep, the only UK RHD ones are press cars at the moment.

Also, UK orders don't have the red leather as an option.

I had a good look at the press car at Goodwood the other week, and I still prefer my blue one. I've been running the same tech spec as the RS500 on mine for a couple of weeks now (official Mountune MP350 upgrade) so it's not as if can be jealous of the extra horses either.

Why hasn't it been painted properly?

aparently autocar have one on long term test, they took it to bedford west circuit for a comparison etc. this was posted up on the renaultsport forum,


Autocar are testing the RS500 at the moment and questioning the £35K price. An idea they've had is if it's worth twice the price of the Clio. Yesterday they came along to our Renaultsport trackday at Bedford with both cars, plus their long term Megane 250 Cup.


They timed all three around the South-West circuit:
