Yeah, i saw that too smile

Unusual, but I don't see the issue? Big engine = good torque for towing, when you get to your destination you've got something nice to drive.

Certainly beats these muppets you see driving a big kahuna motor home towing a panda or similar.. no driving pleasure getting there and none when you've arrived rolleyes

Depending on the size of the caravan, that could be quite illegal.

I do remember once about 5 or 6 years ago seeing an MG Midget towing a huge caravan up the M6. How it hadn't been 'trebuchetted' into a nearby field defies me!

Here you go how about a 911
There was a pix in Pistonheads of a Boxster towing as well.
Better than a SSangyong REXTON anyday

Even with a 911 you still get the obligatory "Queue of hot pissed off delayed motorists" behind you...

One assumes this is likely to be a Plus 8, so with the RV8 up front, the torque etc shouldn't be an issue. Having said that the latest top of the range roadster with the duratec V6 is a very fast, torquey car and would have no problems towing.

However as others have said, if it's a big heavy caravan then it could be illegal, or at least unsafe.

If it's a lightweight caravan then good show from the owner - nice to have something fun to drive when you arrive at your holiday destination!

What draws you to that conclusion?
Don't know about this example, but +8's have twin exhausts the 4 cylinders don't. The new (well newish) V6 Roadster has side exit exhausts.

Surprised the front wheels are still on the ground, what with the engine at the wrong end and all that. Steering must be a bit light!

I thought they were not legal in the EU

Only if the caravan is badly balanced...

I bow to your superior knowledge of caravans. I had not imagined them as finely balanced dynamic precision instruments, merely as expensive rolling obstacles

ok, I will admit that having a look none of them appear to have side exists on them.

I'm sure the demonstrator at my local Morgan dealer when they launched the car had side exit pipes. Square outlet at the end of the running boards, just in front of the rear wheel.

Caterhams on trailers are my experience but you generally don't want a heavy nose wheel when towing.

When my dad and I went to the Caterham 50th anniversary a couple of years back, a Seven had towed a caravan from Holland!
It was one of those tiny little streamlined ones, but certainly the most bizarre tow car I have ever seen!

I asked a simple question. If you're not going to answer it, i'd prefer you didn't start your usual sarcastic, un-reasoned nonsense, thanks.
I was stating how to easily ID a Plus 4 from a Plus 8.
