Hey,
I was just wondering as im not so sure,
Does a moped provisional work as a car provisional e.g being able to drive with another driver in a car insured on you're provisional with L plates when you turn 17.
If not how soon before my 17th can i get my provisional as this is what im hoping to do when i turn 17.
So the questoin in all of that writing really is how soon can i get a provisional that
enables me to drive at 17 with someone else in the car???

you can get a provisional license at 16 for a moped.
this WILL allow you to drive a car at 17 - under the terms of the license.

you can verify that here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNew...

EDIT

Oh, and btw.. just one question mark or exclamation mark will do nicely wink

Sorry mate im just excited because its my birthday in 5 months and i seriously cannot wait to get behind the wheel and show people im not a complete tit! biggrin
So basically if i apply for my moped provisional now then once im 17 that will be a valid provisional for a car and i can be insured and legal driving on that with someone else in the car?

Correct. (as long as the other person is old enough and has enough driving experience, and has a license.. and.. and... But in the most part - correct :P)

I believe you can apply for your provisional before your 17th birthday, but it is only valid from your 17th.
