advice needed wat car to buy.!!!

I have 10 to 12 grand to spend as close to ten as pos thoe. I have seemed to narrow the cars I want to a golf gti dsg or a astra vxr. I'm totally stuck between which one to buy and I'm wondering if any one has had the pleasure off owning both and there choice. Been also lookin at monaro. Any help or advice would be mucho aprreciated.

My mate had a DSG Golf GTI, he just sold it as he hated the gearbox. He said it was terrible in the snow . Personally i think they are overpriced, and would prefer the Astra, a Focus ST(newer shape only) or better still an Alfa 147 GTA.
That money gets you a decent Subaru STI or EVO 8, which I would prefer to the hot hatches anyway.

If your considering a VX muscle car, what about an M3? your top end budget should get one thats OK.

I have no requirements really just a quickish car. I'm 26 and 3 years ncb. Not looked at the m3 ill have a look. Just the vxrs have some good reviews. Looked at a a6 4.2 nice car but I don't think it will have the fun factor at the ring next year.

Looks like a astra vxr. I'll have to test the subaru wrx. Heard some horror stories off the fuel, in not expecting much from vxr. But a friend off mine suggested 15mpg for a wrx ouch.
