I was up early and in Reading to look at and hopefully do a deal on a 2003 S60 D5 this morning, I spoke with the seller on the phone yesterday and all sounded very good...."oh yes excellent condition you won't find anything wrong"

the car was filthy, it had two car park "dents" on the nearside and one on the drivers side, the nearside wheels were kerbed around pretty much 100% of the face in question...the interior was a mess, why do people let children eat and spread food around on the best seats you'll find in any car? also the glovebox was broken at one end, I'd seen enough and didn't even bother starting it up or even lifting the bonnet

I forgot how much "fun" car buying can be at times

the hunt continues

This is exactly why I buy new. Worth the premium imo.

It's frustrating, isn't it! I've been similarly unimpressed with some cars I've looked at in the past, but now and again you do find someone with a good judge of 'mint condition'. I've got my car for sale at the moment and have described it as being in 'great condition'. To my eyes it absolutely is in a great condition, and I hope any potential buyers would agree!

On the other hand it's incredibly rewarding when you call someone who plays down the condition of their car and you arrive to find an absolute minter.

This has only happened to me once.
