Ay up all,

Looking to get a performance exhaust for my DC2 Integra type R but not sure which one to get...
I want one thats..
Not too loud just a subtle sporty one and obviously gives a gain in bhp.
Looking at a mongoose system but seems cheaper than most out there and im aware the OEM exhuast on this has a large diameter piping so i dont want to lose power.
Has anyone got any advice on the best one to choose?
Thanks in advance.

Mugen twinloop, but mega expensive. To be honest, just pop along to www.itr-dc2.com and register, have a browse through the many, many threads asking this same question. Plenty of advice to be had and a friendly bunch.

For what its worth, a cat back alone, won't give you much if any in the way of performance gains and it also depends on whether your car is UK spec, 96 JDM or 98 JDM.

If it's a UK car, changing the exhaust manifold is the best way to gain some power, the UK part is very restrictive.

2.25" diameter, JDM is 2.5". That is the only reason the JDM car produces more power.

If I were you, I would get a JDM manifold and UK length de-cat to suit a 2.5" manifold. (Coming from a UK DC2 ITR owner of 5 years.)

If you go to ITR-DC2.com they'll recommend a Mugen Twin loop, which is quiet but bloody heavy. I would recommend the much lighter and equally as quiet Fujitsubo RM01A. What do you know, that's what I've got wink

Correct.

Will definitely make it noticably more peppy. Particularly in VTEC in 4th, that is where it really shows.

Don't waste your money. If you want a nice sound then get an open induction kit, much nicer.

Save your money for bushes, suspension, geo and brakes. Much better way to spend your hard earned!
