TVR v BMW....on grass video!

Had a great time in our Chimaera at the weekend competing in a grass slalom near Wareham. We didn't win any prizes but I think you'll see we enjoyed ourselves

Couldn't believe the state the car was in at the end - mind you at times it seemed someone was shovelling dirt in our faces Took quite a long time to clean the car but back to normal now

Dreading looking at the air filter mind you a new air filter still makes it very cheap motorsport

I imagine if you did it a lot other parts might need a pit of "maintenance". Shocks etc.

so, where do i get into grass slaloming? i've never seen it before but i recon it could be worth buying a 300quid omega for!

Yes you're not wrong - if I was going to do it regularly in the TVR I'd certainly change the suspension from the current rock hard Nitron set up! I belong to a car club (Bournemouth & District Car Club www.bdcc.org.uk) which organises slaloms every six weeks or so but usually on tarmac. Really good fun and most people enter in old wrecks or their road car but we have had everything from a Lotus Elise to a Dodge Viper!

Try your local car club - just Google 'car club' or 'motor club' and your area and you should find something. Grass slaloms are pretty rare throughout most of the year due to the weather but you are likely to find one near you in the summer...

Just got the Chimaera back from the garage - all it needed (apart from a very good clean!) was adjusting the camber on the back end which had suffered with the bumpy sideways action. No wonder it drove a bit strangely on the way back - one rear wheel had massive positive the camber and the other negative camber, not a good combo but car drives perfectly again now
