£10k Monaro, Supra TT, Skyline R32/33
Discussion
Done the Supra thing, great car can do loads to it and was fun to drive. Only down side to it was it felt too controlled like you wernt really driving the car and had little feeling though the wheel. Cant comment on the Skyline but I imagine it would be pretty much the same as the supra but with even less feel (and much higher insurance).
If it were me I would get the Monaro, still pretty rare but with a nice V8 and again loads of tuning options

Personally I didn't spend £10k, but did something similar about 4 years ago. Pretty sure most of you know what I went for. Basically the same engine as the Monaro but in a slightly lighter car, with more striking looks and rarer.
I guess if a big fast coupe is your thing, then you should also consider things like a Mustang. Mach 1's have a DOHC 32v 4.6 V8 and the Mustang Cobra has IRS, 6 speed and 03/04 models the inclusion of a supercharger.
C4 Corvettes also represent good value bang per buck in this category.
As for the choices, well the Monaro is the most sleek and sophisticated looking, but also the most understated. Probably the best sound track of the lot though, and equally tunable.
But I'd still go Fbody over one.
Supra is amazing, no doubt at all. But R32 looks better IMO and for me just appeals more. Actually I'm rather found of the R32 (although hate the looks of the R33).
So given the choice of only these 3, Skyline would be where my money would go.
Thanks all it's handy to get some different viewpoints.
The Monaro seems like the answer, from a simplicity, soundtrack and age point of view. And yes, practicality
So that looks ideal I guess.
The others also look cool, as said - if you can find a decent one without issues. I guess their complexity, age and users means more bills must be far more likely.

would be an R33 GTR for me. However as has been said, GTR's and Supra's are a minefield of crap, rusty and badly modified cars. I'd be tempted by Miguel at Newera to import my own.
The guy is a legend and so supremely helpful. When i asked him about importing me an R32 GTR i got 4 pages back of skyline information and advice. I have it on email if you are interestd at all.
ETA this is where my money would go:
