I'll be honest, i'm never going to be able to afford a Balboni, just not going to happen this side of a lottery win.

A standard Gallardo on the other hand ain't that far out of reach.

So, my question to you, i know nothing about the gearbox setup and 4WD underpinnings of the Gallardo, to anyone that does, how hard would it be to make the car RWD only?

I've seen a tuner do it with the R8 so i'm thinking possibly modifying what is there rather than a whole new gearbox. Is it simply a case of removing the prop shaft and plugging the hole and a remap of the ECU?

The looks of the Gallardo are perfect IMHO, this would just top the lot if it's possible to feasibly make it RWD too.

PH masses, gies yer knowledge.

would you not be better with a 430? I imagine there's a whole host of reasons it would be a bad idea...

If i could look at a 430 and not think DNA, then yes.

Aren't Gallardos something like 80/20 rearward bias anyway? Doubt you'd notice the difference except for when pulling out of a junction on a wet Tuesday morning.

Sorry, should expand a touch, also removing the front driveshafts etc to lighten up the steering.

Reiter Engineering converted a few Gallardos for racing purposes, although for the amount of work involved a Balboni would be cheaper.

I can't see that the cost / aggro of getting it done would be worth it myself.

Plus you could effectively make the car worthless if you decided to move it on.

Such a positive lot you are.

Anyone got pictures of the 4WD system per chance?

Is there a propshaft in that picture? I think it might actually be the Balboni...

No - look at where the engine is (where the exhaust system starts) and the tailpipes.... a Gallardo that is not!!

Do it. It's your car and if you can't sell it after you've done it, mod it further until it's perfect!

I realize it now that it isn't even close. From a bit more googling it would appear no one has ever stood under their gallardo and posted a pic of it anywhere. I can find ones of a Lancia delta or VW jetta if that would help. hehe

given the current VAG trend for platform sharing you'll probably find that the unerside of an A3 is the underside of a Gallardo
