Could be worse, it could have been delivered and then immediately stolen. You'd definitely then be saying "Where the hell is my Merc?".

Somewhere in an MB car park in Stuttgart there is an apprentice on his first week struggling to take the engine out of a C200CDi and drop your V8 in from a crate before bolting on the big wheels. Give him a chance, he's new! biggrin

Good choice of car if I say so myself Mr Darcy!

Make sure you get yourself a tour of the AMG factory at some point during your ownership.

WTF?! Over 8 months for an A3? Seriously, why would anyone wait that long for an Audi A3 - or any mass produced car. Still at least you'll get to handover a few more quid in VAT for the pleasure of ownership.

Why did you order that with such a long lead time? It's the automotive equivilent of an appliance, I bet its a diesel as well! Hardly worth waiting for like something more exotic, I'd have been straight elsewhere to buy a hatchback thats actually available!

For years Merc only build to order. Not like Honda or LDV for example who stockpile st loads of cars no one actually wants. But hey, thats the British Trade union way...

Have you heard one? Awesome sound. Its also a very good car to drive, the gearbox is pretty decent for a paddle shift, the comfort level is nice plus it looks plain mean. Worthy of its price tag in everyway I hope.

They wish!

Lots of dummy orders are loaded and then the spec is modified as real customers place orders and the build date approaches.

Don't forget in some countries - the US for example, they wouldn't dream of waiting like we do. You drive your old car into a dealer and drive out in a new one 2 hrs later.
