Alternative ISA investment sought - advice please?
Discussion
Dear PH,
I'm sick of seeing 1.0% return on my ISA so have decided "things" and most importantly "4 wheeled things" are much more attractive investments, therefore I have a challenge.
I am mostly seeking a particular vehicle that fits the following criteria;
1) Will cost less than 15k
2) Is fun, attractive and something you could spend an hour in the garage simply looking at and admiring
3) Is rare (< 500 made)
4) Has a motorsport pedigree
5) Preferably hasn't appeared in "EVO", "S&C", "Car" etc as a "future classic"
I can see keeping this car for 10 - 15 years, so see it as a long term investment.
Any ideas?
Thanks

MK1 Focus RS, Racing Puma, Clio V6?
All with plenty of change from £15k.
Thanks Mr.Nake,All with plenty of change from £15k.
Yes the idea of a low milage FRP is quite attractive, problem is they were never really that successful in motorsport so I wonder about the long term desirability outside of Ford circles. Mk1 Focus RS not for me and the Clio V6 well it's certainly rare but will it ever reach the level the original R5's have?
I guess this is as good of a first post as any...
I had roughly the same idea as you and have bought a 1967 Lotus Elan, so my first suggestion would be that, but it has been featured a whole lot lately in the magazines you mention, so I'll suggest the other choice which ran the Elan close for me (and which fits your numbers built criteria a lot better):
'69-71 TVR Tuscan V6.
Only 101 cars made. It's a lovely car, and with its V8 brother Griffith (the '60s one) going for silly money, it's surely a safe bet (they've been climbing at about the same rate as the Elan in fact). It is a racer, and is quite popular in historic racing today.
Regards,
Adi
