5th Gear Camaro reminder

For those still terminally puzzled by the frothy nothingness of Top Gear, Plato gets his hands on the Camaro SS tonight. I'm not expecting him to vaunt it but in the trailer, he was grinning wildly.

I noticed that too. And I think that is mostly what these cars are about. When he tested the GT500 Mustang he grinned a lot too and proclaimed it as a lot of fun.

I'm not sure how you could drive a car like these and not grin really, I know I do

I'd love a new Camaro. Probably one of the only cars I'd consider buying that was made in the last few years. Absolutly love them. Top Gear did not do the car justice!

What VBH? Surely not? I didn't subscribe to this cult of her alleged sex appeal, but I thought she was pretty good as a presenter.

Not a bad review from Plato but yet more garbage about suspension - "the Camaro contunued to use leaf springs into the 70's".

Yes, like many cars of that era and those that didn't still handled worse. As for learning from the Europeans, the rear live axle and leaf spring set-up was invented by a Frenchman.

Meanwhile, I look forward to Plato getting his hands on a "cart-sprung" Mustang 5.0 which has won every test against the Camaro in the US.

I saw that exact car last week on my way home from work. (I live a couple of miles from Llandow so it must have been coming away from the filming day) It looked stunning and much bigger than I expected.

It was nice to see a decent test of it. I felt pretty short changed when it was on TG.

5th Gear would be bearable for me if they got rid of this guy, and his weird beard as well.

I actually really like Tom Ford's written stuff in Top Gear and I think he's okay as a presenter. Top marks for the hair style too.

Jonny Smith comes up with some interesting leftfield features.

Watched it again last night and I can see it taking over from Top Gear as far as real petrolheads are concerned.

It's just like Top Gear used to be.

I always watch it, because I'll watch pretty much anything with car reviews in.

I don't mind VBH as a presenter (I too don't subscribe to her as a sex symbol though), but I find the Johnny bloke a bit of a pain most of the time (although it is true he does come up with an interesting remark now and then).

Tiff and Plato earn their place due to their driving imo.
