Mother Of All Potholes Spotted In Mother Russia

Watch the Ladas (and everything else) fly in this video...

The unusually harsh winter we've just had may have dropped a few nasty potholes onto the UK's road network, but spare a thought for the Russians - who have to deal with holes altogether more nightmarish.

We're not sure when this video was shot or from whence it came (other than YouTube, of course), but the 3ft-deep crater does make our recent troubles with an Audi R8 and a nasty road hole pale into insignificance. There's only one way to deal with this pothole, we reckon, and that's by not Russian (groan)...

Mind you, judging by the compilation of CCTV clips of Moscow traffic that were recently posted up in this thread, potholes are the least of your worries if you're driving in a Russian city... we'll stick to Cumbria and an Audi R8...

Russia is an interesting place to drive. If you don't have at least one near death experience per road journey, you are doing very well.

Driving in Moscow is just mental.

How long before we hear councils saying "Actually you know, we do have it quite well in this country compared to what others have to deal with" wink

It's Zorba's Dance from Zorba the Greek, so a bit older than that, which is itself based on traditional Greek music, so even older again wink

erm, how do you see the vid? clicking on the picture just opens the picture again for me and as I read the article, the link in the thread referred to is supposed to be something else more general about moscow driving (which my work policy won't let me access)

Road was shut for weeks to repair that one...I drove over it before the road was shut, near tore the bottom out of the works Combo... smile

That Golf driver was pure quality.... sideways on the approach and on the power (flat) on the exit with the car straight... Seb Loeb has competition it seems... hehe

Should be an embedded video at the bottom of the story... smile
