Drying out an interior (convertible+rain)

Er... "my friend" drove to work in lovely sunny sunshine. The kind where you'd park up and leave the roof off.
Then it pissed it down.
What's the best way for me -I mean him to dry out the interior? It's a MK1 MX5, so a pair of seats and some carpet.

Oh, and buy one of those dehumdifier sock thingies to cope with the inevitable steamy windows for the next few weeks.

An inch of water in the seats.

Make sure you put it in an old sock before you put it in the car

I learnt very quickly to NEVER leave a convertable parked with the roof down when a passing Seagull dropped the motherload of guano in it its the mistake you only make once.

The cat litter thing doesn't work. Tried it in a misting up 205. Did nothing.

I live in central london so rarely leave the roof down... however I did on the weekend in the evening... I thought it was a cat that was leaving footprints on my car... now I know better, looked off the roof terrace and there's fking urban fox curled up asleep on the passenger seat!!

What the hell this has to do with drying out convertibles I don't know...

In cold weather I've simply borrowed a fan heater, placed it safely in the car (so as not to burn things), and left it running, with the windows open a crack.

My first introduction to TVR ownership was a 4.0 non cat Griffith, which leaked somewhere, garage wasn't built yet, and I was miffed since I'd traded in a G33 for something more practical ( I'd used an all weather car cover with that, never bothered with the roof )

So I have this damp TVR - my solution was a long extension lead and an oil filled radiator - the kind with the thermostat.

a couple of nights with the rad on seemed to dry it out.

I had a problem with the carpets in my car when I bought it someone had valeted it and left it soaking wet. I used some anti-bacterial stain/odour remover which I bought from a pet store and it worked a treat. You will need to keep spraying it and leaving all the doors and windows open when you do it for at least a few hours at a time.

ok i'm lying, why i'd make that up i don't know though, but i have no pics i'm afraid!!

The car is always covered in paw prints and whatever leaves them seems to sleep on the soft top - must think it's a hammock or something - there's always gingerish fur there - i'd just naturally assumed it was a cat. My place backs onto a park and is very quiet, no traffic and gated so i guess the foxes think it's fair game
