Need to sell the golf to pay some bills and now doing less than 10miles a day as opposed to 40

Looking for spend £800 or less on a runaround, not fussed what it is just want somthing most likelyto offer reliability and cheapish motoring, can't be more to insure tpft than the 1.6 golf is to insure fully comp.

Any ideas?

306 D-turbo, was Group 5 insurance in old money. Great engines if they've been serviced properly. Bodywork falls off. I got the feeling when I had mine that the car would slowly start falling apart and just leave me with engine, steering wheel and four wheels, Wacky Races-style.

Need a car to go my parents at the weekend etc and just used to having one now, plus it's 4.7 miles to
work and can't be bothered cycling in the rain although may do in the sunny weather
