I am sick and tired of driving past all these sodding roadworks at 50 miles an hour for no fking reason, if I can work long hours then why can't these s? they're never there! And that's not accounting for all the aholes who, for some inexplicable reason, cannot carry out the simple task of driving in a straight line without crashing...the s.

Lane widths are usually narrower through roadworks, hence the reduced speed.

On the way back from the Sunday service this morning I had a lot of 40mph zones, I got off lightly though, the m26 westbound was a car park! I must have been driving past stationary traffic for about 10-15 mins

They haven't done a bloody thing at j17 for weeks, yet it is still 50mph with 3 lanes instead of four.
Ah well - most HA schemes are on hold until the budget is sorted out, with only minor works / maintenance being carried out.
Same thing on the M6 J5-8.

Spent the last 2 weeks in France, absolute driving & cycling bliss.

The awfulness starts with Brit chavs on the ferry, gets worse with lane hoggers on the M20 and then grinds to a very British halt after Dartford. 5 hours Dover > Manchester.

Every year at this time I wonder why I live in this dump.

I have the pleasure of driving the M25 from the M3 junction upto Jct 17 (Maple Cross) everyday, and back the other direction in the evening.

The record so far is 2.5 hours!!!!
