Never done a 'what car' thread before but here it goes.

My parents are wanting a new car to replace their MGF. Reasons being are that my mother does not like the car and only drives it if she has too. She complains that its too low and too uncomfortable. So a replacement car.

A few requirements:

Comfortable with quality
Sporty
Soft top (although will make exceptions)
Fairly new ish
Something that my mother would be able to drive with ease

So a couple of cars to rule out, firstly MGF, have one now, dont want another. Next up is the MX5, already had one and want something different.

Price range is 3-4k

Any suggestions then? I've had a look about and shown them a few things but nothing yet. They where interested in a Hyundai Coupe but it sold, could possibly a route that they go down.

Thanks

SMKurt

Saab 9-3? Not exactly 'sporty' but should be brisk enough?

I would go with a 9-3 convertible from the requirements. An Alfa Spider would fit the bill too but take a little more looking after.

This has been thought of but they've said about running costs being a bit too high.

Good choice, i suggested it but they didnt like it. Mother said it looked too old. Possibly the newer MR2 but then that looks like a bug.

I said about a 3 series or a A4 cabrio and my dad said that them including the Saab cabrio's just look wrong.

The latest shape MR2 is probably your best bet.

Astra Convertible. I know a very reliable (and incredibly handsome) man who's selling a low mileage for £4k........ (see profile pic!!)
